From time to time, I ask Youth Tour alumni what they wished they
knew BEFORE they went on the big trip. Here’s some of the things they said …
Get out of your comfort zone! Easy to say, but not always easy to
do. But, if you give it a shot, you won’t regret it. On Youth Tour you get to see
and do some pretty cool things. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by! I promise
you won’t regret it.
Stay hydrated. Honestly, this is simply good life advice,
but when we are in DC, it will be warm, and we are on the move a lot. Please be
sure to drink plenty of water. We will have water on the bus for you, so there’s
really no excuse not to.
Arrive well rested. We have a very busy schedule. There’s
no sleeping in, so sleep while you can (before you arrive!).
Comfortable shoes are essential. Be good to your feet, please. We will
walk 5-10 miles a day. (Check out Tour
Tip Thursday, Week One for more details!)
Be ready to meet new people. The best part of Youth Tour is the
people. Get to know your fellow Iowa YTers and the students from the other
states. Who knows were these contacts will take you!
And, if you haven’t read our Iowa Youth Tour 2022
News, be sure to check that out too!
As always, contact us if you have any questions.
